Sea Kayak Day Experiences
Our guided Sea Kayaking days on Skye and Lochalsh give the first time paddler an opportunity to gain some basic skills, before we set out to explore some the west coast of Scotland’s most dramatic coastlines and with a bit of luck, you will encounter some of our local wildlife including Sea Eagles, Seals and maybe even an occasional Otter. After a day with us, we hope you will leave inspired to come and join us again for one of our longer multi day kayaking trips.
We provide both half day kayaking taster sessions or full day adventures for those wanting more of a challenge. Whether it’s developing new skills or just exploring the spectacular coastlines and amazing wildlife that Skye has to offer. For the first time paddler we recommend, the half day. For the more experienced paddler who wants to push themselves a little more, we recommend the full day which allows us to focus a bit more on skills development and undertaking a slightly longer day trip. Meeting points for our day activities include, Elgol, Broadford, Kyleakin, Plockton and Dornie. (Eilean Donan Castle) We will travel to other parts of the Isle of Skye and the mainland depending on numbers.
Please contact us to discuss which option might be best for you.
We can provide all the necessary kayaks, safety equipment and wet suits, though if you have your own suitable kit we’re equally happy for you to use that. We can provide neoprene water shoes but we find a pair of old trainers work well on the rocky shores. You will need to come along with a packed lunch and a smile.
