This tent-based sea kayaking adventure will take you to the Inner Hebrides Islands of Rum, Canna and Eigg. As with many of our weeklong expeditions you will start your week with a familiarisation day, which will allow you to brush up on your kayaking skills and sort out your kit for the trip. Day two will see us travelling via Skye and Mallaig to Canna, where we will be based for the first part of the week. The island offers an opportunity to explore spectacular sea caves while paddling below the 300m cliffs on the north of the islands, which are home to a plethora of nesting sea birds including puffins, guillemots, kittiwakes and shags. With a bit of luck, you will have a good chance of observing both sea eagles and golden eagles which reside on this archipelago.
If the weather allows, the second half of the week will see us exploring the neighbouring island on Rum, with its rich cultural history and diverse fauna. The rich waters between the two islands offer some of the best opportunities to see basking sharks, minke whales and dolphins.
Our clients always return from this adventure captivated by the unique character and beauty of these less well known Hebridean islands. We are sure you will feel the same at the end of your week.
