The Affric Kintail Way

We think the ‘Affric Kintail Way ‘ is one of the spectacular long distance walking routes in Scotland. This fully supported 3 day trip, will take you through some of the most inspiring scenery in the Highland’s. Starting in Drumnadrochit on the shores of Loch Ness, the route winds its way through the Caledonian Pinewoods of Glen Affric, eventually giving way to the rugged peaks of the Five Sisters of Kintail to the west. This trip is supported by the National Trust for Scotland, Ranger Service based at Kintail.

The Affric Kintail way stretches from Drmnadrochit on the shores of Loch Ness through Glen Affric with its remnant Caledonian Pine woods to the steep sided glaciated glens to the west with the imposing Five Sisters of Kintail and Ben Fhada. This 44 mile long distance walking route is fast becoming one of the most popular routes in Scotland and will let you experience some of the most outstanding landscapes the Highland’s have to offer.  You will be guided by one of the National Trust for Scotland’s Rangers. Their expertise, passion and knowledge of this area will gives our guests a unique insight this spectacular landscape.

This is a fully supported expedition which means you won’t have to carry all your provisions for the three days. At least one night will be camping, with the second night at Glen Affric Youth Hostel, before finishing at the Ranger Service base at Morvich where there will be accommodation available if required.

We require a minimum of 2 persons to run this walking experience.

 

 

You will need to come equipped with walking boots with a good sole and ankle support, waterproof jacket and over trousers, and a rucksack of sufficient size to hold spare clothing, hat, gloves etc. You should also have a packed lunch and snacks for during the day.
