The Five Sisters of Kintail

The Five Sisters of Kintail mountain range rises from sea level to 1067m. We have partnered with the National Trust for Scotland’s Ranger Service to offer a spectacular traverse along this breath-taking mountain ridge. The rangers friendliness and enthusiasm, combined with their expert local knowledge, will provide a truly memorable experience as you traverse this iconic mountain range.

This 9 hour traverse of the the Five Sisters of Kintail starts at 8.30am at the Ranger Service base at Morvich.  From there you will be transported to the start of the walk at the east end of the ridge. You will use an old stalkers path to ascend to Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe, the most eastern peak of the Five Sisters before traversing a further 4 peaks, the highest being Sgurr Fhuaran at 1067m.  You will end the day by descending down to the shores of Loch Duich where the bar at the Kintail Lodge Hotel might be a welcome site.

This ridge is not technically difficult but there is some moderate exposure in places.  You should have had some previous hill walking experience before booking on this activity.

You will need to come equipped with walking boots with a good sole and ankle support, waterproof jacket and over trousers, and a rucksack of sufficient size to hold spare clothing, hat, gloves etc. You should also have a packed lunch and snacks for during the day. Fluids of at least 1.5L ( water, juice or energy drink) are essential.  Catering will be provided for dinners and breakfast.
