Knoydart Hills Multi Day Trip: The Knoydart Munros

This walking adventure provides a true wilderness experience, which will take you to the remote Knoydart peninsula and away from the technologies of modern life. So don’t be disappointed when there is no phone signal! We will start the edventure by taking a small boat across Loch Hourn (The loch of hell) to Barrisdale. We will then ascend a steep mountain pass on foot before dropping down to Inverie a small village on the shores of Loch Nevis (The Loch of Heaven) only accessible by boat and your base for the next two days.

This Knoydart adventure is run by our partners at the The National Trust for Scotland. Under the expert gudance of the NTS ranger service, you will travel across Loch Hourn by boat to Barrisdale, where you will be dropped off with all your supplies for the next three days. The group will then make their way on foot up through Glen Barisdale to Mam Barrisdale before dropping down towards Inverie and there accommodation at the Knoydart bunk house. The next two days will be spent climbing some of the Scotland’s remotest Munros’ such as Luinn Bhuidhe, Meall Bhuidhe and Ladhar Bheinn. On the final day you will be collected by boat and return to Arnisdale. 

The is a strenuous three days, so participants require a good level of fitness and should have had previous multi day walking experience. Please contact us if you are unsure about your level of fitness and we will be happy to advice you.

 

 

You will need to come equipped with walking boots with a good sole and ankle support, waterproof jacket and over trousers, and a rucksack of sufficient size to  hold food and spare clothing for a three expedition. We recommend a minimum of 40ltrs.
